International Committee of the Red Cross Takes Risky Decision in Gaza

The Government Information ⁣Office in Gaza stated that the suspension of Red‍ Cross activities in Gaza conflicts with international law.

The‌ Government ⁢Information Office in Gaza declared that the International Commitee of the Red Cross’s decision to‌ suspend its operations in Gaza violates international law.

The media⁢ office of the Gaza Strip government described this decision as perilous, inhumane,‍ and contrary to international regulations, calling for an immediate reversal.

In an official statement, the ‍Palestinian entity condemned the International Committee of the Red Cross’s temporary suspension of its office activities in Gaza City. The statement emphasized that⁤ this decision was made while hundreds of thousands of⁣ Palestinian‌ civilians endure ⁤unprecedented‍ humanitarian crises due to ongoing ⁤warfare, killings, siege,‍ hunger, and destruction resulting from‌ occupying forces’ attacks⁢ on Gaza.

The statement added that this move⁣ represents a catastrophic and irresponsible step. It marked a withdrawal from the humanitarian and ethical responsibilities ‌held by the International⁤ Committee of the ⁤Red ⁢Cross. Rather than aiding Palestinians facing genocide, it abandons innocent civilians amid dire conditions.

The Government⁤ Information Office highlighted that according to international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, the International‌ Committee of⁢ the Red Cross is a protective institution mandated to⁤ operate in conflict ⁢zones. Therefore, this ‍suspension contradicts its basic mission.

Concluding thier statement, they urged a reversal of this ⁤decision and resumption of humanitarian missions within Gaza. They called on the International Committee to strengthen support for Gazan civilians rather of abandoning them⁢ and demonstrate globally that it remains neutral as⁤ a humanitarian organization based on established principles-not political pressures from occupiers.
