Advisor to Former Syrian President: Opening a Camp for Al-Qaeda Is Pure Fabrication
buthaina Shaaban, the political and media advisor to former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, called the reports falsely attributed to her about Assad’s discussions with late Qassem Soleimani, former commander of the IRGC Quds Force, a “lie and slander” in an interview with Al mayadeen network, as reported by the English section of webangah news Agency quoting mehr news Agency.
She emphasized that she has never attended any meetings with martyr Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, or Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Shaaban stated: “President Bashar al-assad never spoke to me about any dialog between him and martyr Soleimani, nor was there ever any discussion about opening camps for Al-Qaeda.”
She added: “This claim is fundamentally false and bears no connection to reality.”
The former advisor further clarified: “Throughout my life,I have not been present-either individually or collectively-in any meeting with martyrs Soleimani or Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis or Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.”
She reaffirmed: “once again, I stress that I have not spoken on this matter to anyone because I possess no data on it.”
Referring to the circulation of these allegations in Iraq, Shaaban described the story as fabricated slander. She said: “I do not know what purpose releasing this accusation at this particular time serves; perhaps only its fabricator truly understands their intention.”
