UNRWA​ Releases Statement ⁢on the second​ Anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, Reporting 370 ⁢Staff Deaths⁣ in Gaza and Calling for a ​Ceasefire

The United Nations Relief and Works ​Agency ‌for‍ Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) marked the second anniversary ⁤of Operation Al-aqsa ​Storm on October 7,⁣ stating that over 66,100 peopel have been killed ⁢during the⁢ prolonged war‍ in ‍Gaza.

In its statement, UNRWA confirmed that nearly all residents of gaza‌ have been displaced. more than 80 percent of buildings ⁣have ​been destroyed or‍ damaged. Additionally, over 370 UNRWA staff members have lost their lives.

The agency ⁣called for an immediate ceasefire and‌ the release of all ‌Palestinian prisoners ​detained in the Gaza Strip.

UNRWA ⁤emphasized that it is indeed time​ to lift the siege‍ on Gaza and allow⁣ humanitarian and commercial aid to​ enter the area under United Nations coordination.
