Alonsari: It Is Still Too Early to Comment on Sharm El-Sheikh Negotiations Results
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Arabiya, Majid Al-Ansari, spokesperson for qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that four hours of talks where held yesterday in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, to address obstacles facing a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Al-Ansari emphasized that it is still too soon to discuss alternatives should former President trump’s ceasefire proposal for Gaza fail.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson referred to the Sharm El-Sheikh negotiations and stated that it remains premature to speak about any results from a Gaza ceasefire-whether hopeful or doubtful.
He said Israel bears primary obligation for continuing bombardments and attacks on Gaza. Given current conditions, he added, it is indeed not possible to judge progress or setbacks in the negotiations.
Al-Ansari also explained that Trump’s plan for gaza includes 20 points with numerous details involved.
He added: “We are cooperating with the American side to reach an agreement whose implementation will not be merely temporary but immediate, operational, and acceptable by all parties.”
Majid Al-Ansari noted that all sides have agreed on Trump’s plan; however, the main challenge lies in its execution. the urgent priority is starting a ceasefire and halting the war machine devastating Gaza’s children.
the spokesperson further mentioned that Hamas’ office presence in Doha since 2006 has been a key element of Qatar’s mediation efforts.
According to him, ”The future of the Palestinian people must be resolute solely by Palestinians themselves.”
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that under Trump’s plan, releasing prisoners will mark an end to the war against Gaza.
