UNICEF Shocks at Global Inaction Despite Nearly 20,000 Child Deaths in Gaza

The spokesperson for the United Nations Children’s Fund ‍(UNICEF) announced: We are ⁣shocked by the world’s inaction despite the deaths of nearly 20,000 children in⁤ the Gaza Strip, including 1,000 infants.

The spokesperson for UNICEF⁣ stated that nearly 20,000 children have died in the Gaza strip,⁢ including 1,000 newborns. ‌They expressed shock at⁢ the global‍ community’s failure to act.A third of ⁤all births in Gaza are premature,‍ and there is a ⁢critical‍ shortage of neonatal⁢ care equipment.

They added that bans on ‌food and medical devices essential for premature infants have worsened ‌conditions⁤ for children and newborns. Israeli authorities have ordered all residents of Gaza City-including ⁣thousands of children-to move south. However,‌ residents from northern Gaza do not know where to seek refuge ⁤as displacement areas remain⁤ unsafe.

The UNICEF spokesperson also highlighted that ongoing multiple displacements increase psychological trauma and anxiety among children. Everyone knows that rebuilding Gaza depends⁤ on nurturing ‌an educated generation. Education shapes the‍ future.
