Qassam Brigades Attempt to Capture Israeli Soldier; Katz Has Been in the Area
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Ealam Al-Harbi, reported that the qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, struck an Israeli Merkava tank with a powerful bomb near Al-Buradi area around 10th Street in southern Gaza City.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 12 claimed that a group of Hamas fighters attacked an Israeli army base in central Gaza. They attempted to capture soldiers but retreated after some Qassam militants carried out the assault and tried to take one soldier captive.
At the same time, Hebrew sources reported intense clashes between resistance fighters and occupying forces northwest of Gaza City.
The Israel Defense Forces radio stated that the site targeted by Hamas in central Gaza is the headquarters of the Golani Brigade. prior to this attack, Israel Katz met with the Golani brigade commander in an area not far from where Hamas launched their assault.
The Israeli military asserted they repelled the attack on their base in Gaza City. Katz had visited this location shortly before Hamas’s offensive.
Additionally, Hebrew sources noted that while the military claims no casualties occurred, helicopters carrying wounded soldiers have landed at Beilinson Hospital.
