Trump: We Are Very Close to a Gaza Agreement
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing russia Today via Mehr News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump stated Wednesday night that the parties are very close to reaching an agreement regarding Gaza, and that discussions with Hamas are progressing well.
In a conversation with reporters,Trump added: “I might travel to the Middle East by the end of this week or perhaps Sunday. Even at this moment, I am coordinating with officials on the Gaza agreement, and very good progress has been made.”
He also noted: “All Islamic and Arab countries are involved in this process, a level of coordination not seen before.”
simultaneously occurring, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters on Capitol hill that there was solid progress today concerning Gaza and developments in Sharm El Sheikh are heading in a positive direction.
Rubio added: “the president must decide about traveling to Egypt,but I expect that if the timing is right,he will be willing to make this trip.”
This comes just hours after Axios reported quoting the White House that Trump currently does not intend to travel to the Middle East or attend any potential signing ceremony for a ceasefire agreement related to ending the Gaza conflict.
