Trump Announces Release Date of Israeli Prisoners and Takes Anti-Iran Stance
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, reported that CNN is currently covering the first phase of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. According to what is known about the probable developments in the coming days, a White house official stated that Israel’s cabinet will vote today, Thursday, on a peace plan to halt the war. If Israel agrees, it will have 24 hours to withdraw its forces from Gaza. This will begin a 72-hour window during which Hamas may release remaining prisoners.
The White House official told CNN that the United States expects the release of 20 prisoners to begin on Monday, though Hamas might act earlier. Trump said that the prisoners “will probably be freed on Monday.”
Separately, in an interview with Fox News, President Trump said those held in Gaza would likely be released on Monday. This declaration followed reports of an initial ceasefire agreement between Israeli occupiers and Hamas.
Simultaneously occurring, experts are already warning about Israel’s long history of breaking its commitments and doubting its compliance with this agreement.
In this interview, Donald Trump also referenced recent aggression by his contry and Israeli occupiers against Iran-actions violating international conventions-and claimed Tehran is “about one or maybe two months away from having nuclear weapons,” adding if he had allowed it to happen, “this deal wouldn’t have been possible.”
