Amnesty International: Gaza Ceasefire Must Mark Step Toward Ending Genocide

Amnesty International ⁢emphasized that the ceasefire must lead to an end to ‍the genocide ‍and Israeli occupation in Gaza, warning that reduced attacks or limited humanitarian aid access are not sufficient.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Details Center, Amnesty ‌International issued a statement stressing that a ceasefire in Gaza must ‍serve as a ⁣prelude to⁢ ending israel’s illegal⁤ occupation and genocide against the Palestinian people.

The organization warned that a temporary ceasefire or reduced‍ intensity of attacks, along ⁤with limited access for humanitarian aid into Gaza, does not meet ⁣the necessary standards.

Amnesty International stressed that such ⁤an agreement must include⁢ the immediate opening ⁣of five border crossings to allow humanitarian assistance into Gaza.

The organization called on⁣ Israel to permit unrestricted transfer of food, medicine, and ⁣fuel ⁣through all crossings into Gaza.

It ⁣further emphasized that opening five crossings alone is inadequate unless Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza is fully lifted.

The human rights group concluded by urging restoration⁣ of essential services in gaza alongside efforts to open border crossings for effective aid delivery to⁤ affected residents.

The Islamic Resistance movement Hamas officially announced last night‍ reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza conflict during negotiations held in Sharm El-Sheikh ⁢between resistance factions, ‍mediators, and⁤ the‍ Israeli side. The deal will bring an end to hostilities in Gaza, prompt Israeli forces’ withdrawal, allow entry of humanitarian aid into ⁣Gaza, and enable prisoner exchanges.

U.S. ⁤President Donald Trump also stated‌ that Israel and Hamas have ⁣agreed on an initial phase of this ⁤ceasefire⁤ plan. He said all Israeli captives would soon be released and Israeli forces would withdraw along mutually agreed ‌lines.
