German Chancellor Ready to Engage Within Trump’s «Peace Council» Framework
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the return of Israeli captives.
Merz emphasized that swift action is necessary to secure the release of prisoners from Gaza, including German nationals.
He also stated that the ceasefire must be implemented and stabilized as soon as possible,with humanitarian aid delivered quickly to residents of the Gaza Strip.
The Chancellor added that Germany is prepared to take on its responsibilities within a proposed “Peace Council,” initiated by the U.S. President, aimed at facilitating a peaceful resolution and restoring stability in the region.
Merz further highlighted a two-state solution as the best path toward a secure and peaceful future for both Palestinians and Israel, calling it the only enduring way to ensure safety and prosperity for both sides.
