Hezbollah Foils Dangerous Israeli Regime Plan in Lebanon
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al-Manar Network via Mehr News Agency, reporter Mouni Tahini reported on friday night that Lebanese security forces uncovered and dismantled an espionage cell affiliated with the Israeli regime. The group intended to conduct terrorist attacks inside Lebanon.
The arrested individuals confessed thay planned to detonate six bombs during a ceremony commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Lebanese security forces conducted simultaneous operations in Aramoun and Antelias, arresting several members of this network and seizing various equipment and tools used by them.
In this regard, Lebanon’s General Security Details Office issued a statement announcing: “Within efforts to combat espionage networks, security forces succeeded in identifying and dismantling a cell operating for the Zionist enemy. This cell was preparing for terrorist attacks and assassinations targeting figures inside Lebanon.”
The statement added one detainee confessed that this network had previously carried out multiple assassination attempts against officials from hizb al-Jama’a al-Islamiyya.
The statement continued: “After precise security surveillance, operational follow-ups, and technical measures-conducted with cooperation from Lebanese army forces and intelligence agencies-the General security Directorate carried out extensive operations across several areas. These lead to discovering equipment used by the network and arresting several key members.”
Among those detained are Brazilian, Palestinian nationals as well as two Lebanese citizens. Their names were released only as initials.
The General Security Directorate confirmed that full details will be disclosed upon completion of investigations under relevant authorities’ supervision.
