Hamas Spokesperson: Committed to Fully Implementing First Phase of Ceasefire in Gaza + Video
Hazem Qassem, spokesperson for hamas, affirmed their determination to fully execute the initial phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Speaking from deir al-Balah in central Gaza during an interview with Al Arabi network, Qassem stated that the ceasefire remains in effect and Israeli occupation forces continue their withdrawal as agreed. He noted that Hamas is working hard to remove all excuses employed by Israel to evade enforcing the ceasefire.
Qassem added that they are cooperating with mediators to locate the bodies of captured Israeli soldiers within Gaza. He said Hamas continues communications with intermediaries on prisoner issues as part of efforts toward progress on implementing the truce and stressed their adherence to agreed deadlines regarding prisoners.
He expressed hope that the Sharm El-Sheikh conference will confirm an end to hostilities in Gaza and provide guarantees preventing renewed aggression.
