Half a Million Palestinians Return to Gaza City
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, the spokesman for the Civil Defense Organization in Gaza reported that since the ceasefire took effect, 500,000 people have returned to thier homes in Gaza City.
Mahmoud Bassel emphasized in an interview with media outlets that no tents or houses are prepared to shelter residents returning from southern areas of the Gaza Strip.
He also stated that around 9,500 Palestinians remain missing, with their bodies trapped under rubble. Rescue teams and civil defense forces continue efforts to locate them.
The local official noted: “Despite our attempts to present a better reality, there is no infrastructure left for living in Gaza.We, as a civil defense system, require $450 million to restore our operational capacity.”
