Hamas Official: Disarmament of the Resistance Is Not Under Discussion
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen, AFP reported that a Hamas official stated the group’s disarmament is not part of the ongoing negotiation talks and is not being considered.
This statement comes while hamas officials have previously affirmed that their weapons are legal and intended solely for defending the Palestinian people.
Mousavi Abu Marzouk, a senior Hamas member, declared in a television interview yesterday that no one would dare to disarm the Palestinian people.
Simultaneously occurring,the Palestinian Prisoners’ Information Office denied any official agreement regarding a joint prisoners list. This contradicts reports from Israel, which published a list of 250 Palestinian prisoners claimed to be slated for release under an agreement.
