Moqaddad to Lebanese Officials: We Do Not Expect War with Israel from You
Ali al-Maqdad, representative of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in lebanon’s parliament, stated that they support holding parliamentary elections on time according to the current law, a decision upheld by Parliament speaker Nabih Berri. He added that this law enjoys broad political backing.
Commenting on recent events in Gaza, al-Maqdad described them as a victory because Israel failed to displace Gaza’s residents. He emphasized that Hamas remains entrenched in Gaza and said, “The goal of aggression has not been achieved.” Despite two years of destruction and Israeli brutality, this outcome is considered a success for Palestinians.
Al-Maqdad noted that until the last day of conflict, Hamas continued rocket attacks and eliminated officers and soldiers, demonstrating that the resistance endures.
“We are more confident than ever in our resistance and its unity,” he added.
He also called on the Lebanese government to stand alongside residents of Bekaa, southern lebanon, and Dahieh.
Al-Maqdad questioned Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry regarding its response to Israeli aggression: “Where is it?”
He stressed that the Lebanese army fulfills its duties. The army commander’s clear remarks during a cabinet meeting about Israeli attempts to prevent Lebanese forces from deploying in frontline villages confirm this commitment.
addressing government officials directly, al-Maqdad asked: ”What are you waiting for before raising your voices? We do not ask you to fight Israel; we want you to speak out decisively at international forums.”
