Hamas Will Not Participate in Ceasefire Agreement Signing Ceremony in Egypt
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Agence France-Presse, Husam Badran, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, emphasized that the movement will not be involved in the formal signing of the ceasefire agreement in Egypt.
Badran stated that Hamas has already carried out all necessary steps through Egyptian and Qatari mediators during ceasefire negotiations.
He also dismissed reports about Hamas leaders leaving Gaza under a plan proposed by former U.S. President Donald trump as “absurd and meaningless,” adding that no Palestinian would agree to such conditions.
Badran warned that Hamas would respond to any new aggression from the Israeli regime. He added that upcoming negotiations with Israel would be more difficult and complex.
Yesterday, Egypt’s presidency announced that Sharm El-Sheikh will host a peace summit on Monday aimed at ending the Gaza war. The meeting will be jointly chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and former U.S. President Donald Trump, with leaders from over 20 countries attending. The formal signing of the Gaza ceasefire agreement is scheduled during this summit.
