Border Clash Between Pakistan and Afghanistan According to Islamabad
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Associated Press Pakistan reported that Islamabad’s security sources stated the retaliatory operation against the Afghan Taliban continues. Pakistani forces reportedly seized 19 Taliban military bases and destroyed a key stronghold.
The Lahore-based newspaper The Nation wrote that in response to indiscriminate gunfire by Afghan forces along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, the Pakistani army launched a decisive retaliatory strike early today. The operation destroyed several Taliban outposts and inflicted heavy losses on Afghan militias and fighters.
Security sources said Taliban fighters opened fire from multiple locations including Angur Ada, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Bahramcha in Balochistan. Pakistani troops responded swiftly and targeted militant positions effectively.
The Nation reported this exchange of fire quickly escalated into a full-scale retaliation targeting militant hideouts along the border.
The newspaper quoted Pakistani security officials claiming that Taliban fighters fled posts near the border areas leaving behind equipment and bodies.
Pakistani media alleged dozens of Taliban militants were killed or injured during these counterattacks.
Last night,Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying its forces targeted locations from which drones were launched into Afghan territory or where airspace violations occurred.
the ministry added that Afghanistan’s army bombed military sites across the border frequently used for attacks on civilians and efforts to undermine afghanistan’s territorial integrity.
Afghan defense officials said alongside strikes on Pakistani army positions, some ISIS-linked sites inside Pakistan were also targeted during these operations.
the ministry emphasized that military actions will continue until all violations of Afghanistan’s sovereignty cease completely.
