Border Clash Between Pakistan and Afghanistan According to Islamabad

Pakistani media, citing the country’s security⁣ sources,‍ claimed ⁣that Islamabad forces have captured ‌19 military bases in a retaliatory operation against the ⁢afghan Taliban.

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News ​Agency,‌ Associated Press Pakistan reported that Islamabad’s⁤ security sources stated the retaliatory operation against the Afghan Taliban continues. Pakistani ‍forces reportedly seized 19 Taliban military⁤ bases and destroyed a​ key stronghold.

The Lahore-based newspaper The‌ Nation⁤ wrote that⁣ in response to‌ indiscriminate gunfire by Afghan ⁤forces along the⁤ Pakistan-Afghanistan border, the Pakistani army launched a ‍decisive retaliatory strike early today. ⁤The operation ⁣destroyed several‍ Taliban ‍outposts and inflicted heavy losses on Afghan militias ‍and fighters.

Security sources said‌ Taliban fighters opened⁢ fire⁢ from ⁤multiple locations including Angur Ada, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral,‍ and Bahramcha‍ in Balochistan. ⁤Pakistani troops ​responded swiftly and targeted⁣ militant⁣ positions‍ effectively.

The ​Nation reported‌ this exchange of fire quickly escalated into a full-scale retaliation targeting ​militant hideouts along the border.

The newspaper quoted Pakistani security‍ officials claiming ‌that ​Taliban fighters fled posts near the border areas⁣ leaving behind equipment​ and bodies.

Pakistani media alleged dozens of Taliban militants were killed or injured during these counterattacks.

Last night,Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense‍ issued a statement saying its‍ forces targeted locations from which drones were launched into Afghan territory or where airspace violations occurred.

Afghan defense officials said alongside strikes on Pakistani army positions, some ISIS-linked sites ⁣inside Pakistan were also targeted⁢ during these‍ operations.

the ministry⁤ emphasized that ⁢military actions will continue ​until all violations‍ of Afghanistan’s sovereignty⁤ cease completely.
