Kremlin: Tomahawk Is a Dangerous Weapon; All Statements Are Being Closely Monitored
Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesperson, addressed the issue of perhaps supplying long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, stating that this growth would not alter the situation on the battlefield. The remarks were reported by Mehr News agency via webangah News Agency, citing TASS.
Peskov said: “Many statements are being made about this matter, and we are carefully monitoring all of them. The Tomahawk issue is highly concerning to us, as President Vladimir Putin has previously stated.”
He added: “The tomahawk is a unique weapon that can be equipped with both nuclear and conventional warheads; it has long range and is considered hazardous.”
Axios earlier reported that on October 11, former U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone call discussing the supply of these missiles to Kyiv.
Trump had previously said he had made a decision regarding delivering this weapon to Ukraine but wanted more information about KyivS intended targets.
Putin emphasized that Kyiv’s potential access to Tomahawk missiles would escalate tensions into a new phase. This escalation would affect not only the war in Ukraine but also Russia-U.S. relations.
