Trump: Don’t Worry About China; Everything Will Be Fine
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, US President Donald Trump stated on Sunday: “Don’t worry about China; everything will be fine! His Excellency President Xi is just going through a tough moment. He does not want an economic downturn in his country, and neither do I.”
the US president added that America wants to help China, not harm it.
This statement from Trump comes amid uncertainty over whether he will meet with Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping at the upcoming APEC summit in South Korea. Previously, Trump denied canceling the meeting but expressed doubt that it would take place.
In response to reporters’ questions about the canceled meeting, Trump said: “I did not cancel it, but I don’t no if we are going to have it.”
referring to China’s recent restrictions on rare earth mineral exports, Trump described the move as “entirely surprising.” He said: “Thay suddenly brought up this idea of imports and exports-nobody, really nobody knew anything about it.”
