Israeli Negotiator: Hamas and Arabs Oppose Handing Gaza’s Administration to Blair
A senior member of the Israeli negotiation team stated that Hamas and Arab countries oppose Tony Blair’s administration of the Gaza Strip.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Gershon Baskin, a member of the Israeli negotiation team, told Al Jazeera Mubasher that Hamas and several Arab countries have rejected the proposal for Tony Blair to oversee governance in Gaza.
He added, “I believe Marwan Barghouti should be released,” but noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opposes this idea.
Baskin further stated that at the conclusion of implementing the agreement, Israel will be compelled to withdraw from Gaza as part of a natural process within the agreement.
The israeli negotiator also said israel might request the removal of some Hamas leaders from Gaza as part of executing the deal.
