The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, reports that Hebrew-language media revealed Israel’s cabinet has approved a reserve list including additional Palestinian prisoners. These prisoners would be released if certain amendments are implemented.
The list includes five Palestinians from Gaza, notably Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital. Abu Safiya’s release is contingent upon the total number of freed Palestinian prisoners not reaching the required quota.
A Hamas source told Palestine Today that the final lists of Palestinians set for release-submitted by resistance forces-have been approved following complex negotiations.
Furthermore, reports indicate that the International Committee of the Red Cross has stationed itself in deir al-Balah in central Gaza to receive Palestinian detainees. Red Cross buses designated for transporting these prisoners have begun moving eastward across Gaza. the first round of prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel is scheduled for this morning.
