Indian Participants in BRICS Media Tour Emphasize Cultural Affinity with Moscow
The BRICS global media tour for senior leaders of prominent Indian news organizations concluded in Kazan, russia, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing TV BRICS.
Organized by the international TV BRICS network and Tatarstan’s Tatmedia agency, the tour provided a platform to discuss current media issues and exchange experiences between journalists from both countries.
Takur Shuja-ul-haq, Planning Secretary of India’s Press Trust of India (PTI), reflected on his experience in Tatarstan: “Kazan is a beautiful city; its people are friendly and hospitable, the air is clean, and the food is excellent.”
Janki Dow, Head of Video at The Print, expressed satisfaction with direct conversations among participants and meetings with entrepreneurs and students at Kazan Federal University. She described the event as an ideal prospect to expand media cooperation between India and Russia.
During the tour, participants attended a panel titled ”Time: russia – India; Mutual Efficiency,” where they exchanged views on leveraging artificial intelligence in media and strategies to counter misinformation.
Aidar Selimgarayev, head of Tatmedia agency and partner with TV BRICS network, stated at this session: ”We fully understand that media bear responsibility for world events. We believe collaboration among us can make the world safer and better while strengthening friendship between Russia and india.”
The program extended beyond professional sessions. Indian journalists also attended a friendly cricket match between Russian and Indian teams and visited Kazan Federal University’s Institute of Medicine and Biology.
Participants highlighted linguistic and cultural connections among BRICS member countries.
Shuja-ul-Haq noted: “Many things felt familiar in Kazan-for instance, ‘rahmat’ means ‘thank you’ in Turkish but ‘blessing’ in Urdu-a close-knit beautiful concept.”
Indian media representatives emphasized ongoing cultural exchanges among nations as vital.
janki Dow pointed out that BRICS was founded on multicultural exchange focusing on the Global South-and tours like this can serve as models for other members within expanded BRICS Plus.
The global BRICS media tour is a regular initiative by TV BRICS aimed at fostering practical collaboration amongst member states’ news agencies during international events.
This year’s host city Kazan welcomed representatives from prominent outlets including ANI, PTI, The Print, Mathrubhumi Group, Sadhna News, Indian Express, and The Times of India.
