Israeli Media Reveals How Rafah Crossing Is Managed
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, the Israeli channel i24 News claimed that a senior officer affiliated with the Palestinian Authority president, named Ahmed Hamouda, has been appointed by Palestine as the official in charge of managing the Rafah crossing.
The report states that several Palestinian police officers trained in Egypt will also participate in overseeing this crossing.
The network added that this move will place control of the Rafah crossing under the authority of the Palestinian Authority.
The Rafah crossing is scheduled to reopen based on a ceasefire agreement reached between Hamas and Israel. Repeated closures of this vital gateway to Gaza over the past two years have caused significant difficulties for residents within the enclave.
