Bus Fire in India Before Departure Kills 20 Passengers
A bus fire in northern India has claimed the lives of at least 20 passengers.
A bus caught fire, likely due to an electrical short circuit, resulting in the deaths of at least 20 passengers, according to webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Self-reliant.
The bus, carrying between 35 and 50 passengers, was about to depart from Rajasthan state when the blaze broke out. Mahant Pratap Puri, a member of India’s ruling party parliament, said the flames spread so quickly that passengers didn’t have enough time to evacuate.
He added that bodies of 19 victims were recovered from the bus. Another passenger died en route to the hospital due to severe burns. Additionally, 15 others sustained serious injuries and were rushed for medical treatment.
