Hamas Rejects Any Foreign Rule Over Gaza
Mehr News Agency, International Desk: The international conference titled “The Future of Gaza in Light of the Trump Plan” was held at Mehr Media Group’s conference hall. Participants included Sheikh Muhammad Al-Mu’add, head of the Advisory board of the Palestinian scholars Council in Lebanon; Mansour Barati, israel affairs researcher; Muhammad Abu Obaid, Al-Alam correspondent in Gaza; Muhammad Bayat, Middle East expert and researcher; Hossein Houshmand, U.S. affairs analyst; and Mohammad reza Moradi, director general for international and foreign news at mehr News Agency.
Muhammad Abu Obaid said at the event that Hamas’ swift response to President Trump’s plan aimed to halt the Gaza conflict and block pretexts exploited by the occupiers was very positive and significant.By responding promptly, Hamas demonstrated its desire for an immediate end to the war on Gaza-conditional on no breaches or bad faith from Trump and Netanyahu.
The Al-Alam reporter added that Hamas’s reply to Donald Trump’s plan included a conditional acceptance emphasizing that governance over Gaza must be conducted by a fully Palestinian technocratic government.Many European countries are attempting to extend their influence through investment projects in this region. However, Hamas stressed that Gaza’s administration will remain under full Palestinian control with participation from the Palestinian Authority. Any form of external governance over Gaza is fully unacceptable to both Hamas and the Palestinian people.
