Warning Issued Over U.S. Plan to Plunder Iraq’s Oil Resources
Nissan Al-Salihi, an Iraqi parliamentarian, emphasized that recent remarks by U.S. President donald Trump about Iraq’s oil reveal washington’s true intentions.
He stated that the U.S. government does not view Iraq as a political or strategic partner but rather sees it as a source of wealth too exploit for its regional interests.
Al-Salihi added that today the U.S. approaches Iraq primarily from an economic perspective aimed at controlling its oil resources, and any talk of supporting Iraq’s stability is merely rhetoric.
During the Sharm El Sheikh summit in Egypt,Donald Trump notably said that Iraq has so much oil it does not know what to do with it.
Given America’s history of exploiting natural resources in countries like iraq and Syria, Trump’s comments are being seen as a warning signal.
Al-Salihi explained: “When you possess great wealth but do not know how to effectively use it, you face a major problem.”
It appears these statements by Trump may be laying the groundwork for further plundering of Iraq’s resources.
