Warning Issued Over Major Threat Facing Palestinian Refugees
The English section of webangah news agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Ma’an, reports that Handicap International, an NGO specializing in mine clearance and assistance to landmine victims, warned that unexploded bombs and explosive devices pose a serious danger to Palestinian refugees returning to their destroyed homes in Gaza.
The organization emphasized that according to estimates, the Israeli regime has dropped 70,000 tons of explosives over the Gaza Strip during the past two years. The debris in the area is extremely dense, creating severe risks for refugees attempting to return to their communities.
Moreover, the situation is exacerbated by a lack of sufficient equipment and resources necessary for clearing these bombs and explosives from Gaza.
