Elimination of Zionist Spies’: Martyr Yahya Sinwar’s Key Achievement
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, egyptian political analyst and writer Abbas aboul-Hassan revealed details on social media about how the Palestinian Resistance Movement cleared Gaza Strip of Israeli spies during Yahya Sinwar’s leadership.
He noted a stark difference between the period before and after Sinwar’s release from Israeli detention regarding Israel’s widespread infiltration into Palestinian resistance structures through numerous traitorous agents. Prior to Sinwar’s freedom, many targeted assassinations occurred among fighters. Afterward, Gaza was effectively cleansed of traitors and enemy intelligence operatives.
Aboul-Hassan added that this growth transformed Israel from “a many-eyed snake within Gaza” into “an utterly blind serpent fumbling in darkness.” Sinwar established and headed a surveillance system to monitor suspected spies, completely eliminating the concept of betrayal at its root in Gaza.
The analyst emphasized that if these collaborators had remained active, Operation Al-Aqsa Storm would not have taken place, nor could Hamas have constructed its extensive tunnel network.
He concluded that without clearing out these traitors, Hamas could not have fought for two years or thwarted Israel’s objectives for complete annihilation. This alone stands as a genuine victory for resistance power.
Aboul-Hassan further noted that during his prolonged imprisonment,Sinwar closely monitored some agents and understood their interactions with Israeli intelligence. Under his leadership in Gaza, resistance members executed these spies publicly by gunfire in front of Gazans.
even before his detention, Sinwar focused on security foundations as central to his struggle. Starting his political activism in the early 1980s aiming to become a pioneer leader against occupation, he placed special emphasis on infiltrating intelligence agents who had penetrated Palestinian society.He considered these collaborators the most dangerous tools used by zionist occupiers that must be eradicated.
Sinwar founded Al-Majd (Glory), which became the initial core of Hamas’ internal security apparatus. This organization simultaneously interrogated Israeli operatives while tracking Israeli intelligence officers and security services inside Gaza.
The Hamas leader enhanced his theoretical security expertise throughout incarceration and developed interrogation skills even within prison against Zionist agents.
An expert both militarily and strategically who rose to top leadership positions within Hamas, sinwar possessed advanced Hebrew language skills. He translated numerous political-security works including:
- The book “Shabak Between The Fragments,” analyzing internal affairs within Israel’s domestic intelligence service;
- The 1992 book on “Israeli Political Parties,” covering parties active at that time;
- “Hamas: trial & Error,”, detailing Hamas’s evolution over time;
Additionally, he authored an acclaimed novel titled “Carnation Thorn,”, depicting Palestine’s struggle from 1967 until the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000.
