Germany Pledges $500 Million for Ukraine Arms Purchase
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing RIA Novosti via Mehr News Agency, Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated on Wednesday that Berlin will finance the purchase of American weapons for ukraine with $500 million under NATO’s prioritized requirements list for Ukraine.
The defense minister added that the package will include air defense systems, Patriot missile systems, radars, precision ammunition, and missiles.
Al Jazeera reported that Pistorius said Germany will continue supporting the Ukrainian military and collaborate with Ukraine to strengthen its defense industries. He also expressed plans to station fighter jets at a Polish military base in Malbork to protect NATO’s eastern flank.
Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that with Europeans funding American arms purchases, Ukraine remains capable of achieving its territorial objectives.
