Trump Authorizes CIA Operation in Venezuela; Attack on Venezuela Possible
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, The New York Times reported that the Trump administration approved a covert Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operation in Venezuela.This authorization allows the CIA to carry out lethal operations independently or in cooperation with the military.
The newspaper stated that the U.S. military prepared options for Trump’s consideration, including potential strikes inside Venezuela.
On Tuesday evening,Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social that U.S. forces attacked a vessel off the Venezuelan coast under his orders, resulting in six casualties.
The U.S. president claimed that this vessel was transporting narcotics.
As last September, the United States has targeted Venezuelan boats five times, citing drug trafficking as justification.
