Israeli Regime Fails to Secure Military Victory in Battle Against Hamas

Mehr News Agency, International Desk: The international conference titled “The Future of Gaza in Light of Trump’s Plan” was held wiht the participation of Sheikh Mohammed Al-Mu’add, head of the Advisory Council of Palestinian Scholars in Lebanon; Mansour Barati, an expert on Israel; Mohammed Abu Obaid, Al-Alam correspondent in Gaza; Mohammed Bayat, Middle East analyst and researcher; Hossein Houshmand, U.S. affairs expert; and Mohammad Reza Moradi, Director General for International Affairs and Foreign News at Mehr News Agency, held at mehr Media Group’s meeting hall.
Mansour Barati said during the session: “To analyze Trump’s peace plan, we must first distinguish between two logics-the iranian logic rooted in Iran’s national interests and the Palestinian logic-and recognize that these two may differ or even conflict. However, we acknowledge there is notable overlap between them. The full implementation of this plan will produce outcomes contrary to Iran’s interests.”
He added, “From Iran’s outlook based on its national interests, implementing this plan would eliminate the pause caused by the Abraham Accords. Arab countries that had halted normalization with Israel would resume it because war would cease-removing the main obstacle-and ideological justification for opposition would no longer exist.”
This Israeli regime specialist continued: “Looking from Palestine’s perspective within Trump’s 20-article plan, some clauses favor Palestinians compared to previous agreements or draft accords while others favor Israelis-such as disarmament provisions benefiting Israelis. Disarming Hamas is crucial. Though Israel has dealt blows to Hamas, it did not secure a military victory.”
Barati explained: “According to this plan, war ends permanently-a clear benefit for Palestinians. Previous plans discussed temporary agreements, but Trump’s proposal establishes a permanent ceasefire.Another advantage is that forced displacement from Gaza is not mentioned; rather, it explicitly states no one must leave Gaza-unlike some Israeli politicians from extremist right-wing factions like Smotrich who advocated relocating many Gazans out of the Strip.
The plan also stipulates that Israel must not occupy Gaza nor attempt annexation efforts-a positive outcome supporting Palestinian rights.”
