United Nations spokesperson warns that Israel is denying visas to NGOs and preventing many from delivering aid to Gaza.
The United Nations emphasizes the urgent need to reopen all crossings into the Gaza Strip to expand humanitarian assistance, according to the UN Secretary-General’s spokesperson.
At a daily press briefing at UN headquarters in New York, Stephane Dujarric stated that Israel is currently refusing to issue visas for non-governmental organizations and is blocking many of them from sending aid into Gaza.
Dujarric also noted that the United Nations has deployed teams to inspect Salah al-Din Street, which has not been used in Gaza for several months.
He added that clearance of roads leading to the Erez and Kerem Shalom crossings has been completed in preparation for their possible reopening for humanitarian deliveries.
