Trump and Netanyahu Discuss Prisoner Swap Agreement in Phone Call
According to webangah News Agency’s English section, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera,U.S. President donald Trump and israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone on Thursday evening.
The two leaders discussed the process of returning the bodies of Israeli captives. Netanyahu also briefed Trump on planned measures against the Hamas movement.
Hebrew media reported that during the call, Trump and Netanyahu addressed accelerating the return of israeli captives and considered possible responses to delays in delivering bodies.
In this conversation, Trump described Hamas’s alleged “mass executions” of its opponents as a “cleansing” operation and stated he was monitoring the situation closely.
Trump told Netanyahu that if Hamas continues killing civilians in Gaza, the United States would have no choice but to intervene militarily.
The statements from Netanyahu and Trump came amid Hamas’s reaction to Netanyahu’s threats to delay reopening the Rafah crossing point and reduce humanitarian aid entering Gaza.
Hamas condemned these threats as reflecting his government’s fascist approach aimed at punishing Palestinians in Gaza by exploiting humanitarian conditions as leverage.
the group stressed its commitment to upholding a ceasefire agreement, ensuring its implementation, and delivering all remaining bodies-while accusing Netanyahu of persistent delays and noncompliance.
