China Welcomes Improvement in Russia-US Relations
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Sputnik via Mehr news Agency, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian stated on Friday that Beijing welcomes the improvement of relations between Russia and the United States.
The spokesman added that regarding a possible meeting between Russia and the U.S. in hungary, Beijing supports all efforts aimed at advancing a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine crisis and also welcomes improved ties between moscow and Washington.
Lin Jian further commented on reports of military journalists from RIA Novosti being killed or injured following an attack by Ukrainian forces, emphasizing that Beijing consistently condemns violence against journalists.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a lengthy phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
Trump said about the call: “I am currently in a telephone conversation with President Putin, which is ongoing.As soon as it concludes, we will update you on its content and outcomes.”
