Axios Reports on Tense Zelensky-Trump Meeting at the White House
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, reported that Axios, referencing informed sources, revealed that U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized “diplomacy first” during his meeting with ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump warned that supplying Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv coudl undermine these diplomatic efforts.
Another source told Axios the White House meeting between trump and Zelensky was “not simple or calm,” with Trump adopting a tough stance throughout their discussions.
Several sources said Zelensky pressed hard for Tomahawk missiles during the meeting, but Trump responded firmly and inflexibly.
an additional source told Axios that leaders of countries Zelensky contacted after the meeting were surprised and confused by Trump’s noticeably shifted position compared to previous stances.
The same source added that UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak proposed London and Washington develop a plan akin to Trump’s “Gaza plan” as a framework to establish peace in Ukraine.
