Mexico Flood Death Toll and Missing Persons Rise to 120
According to English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Anadolu Agency, Mexican officials report that the death toll from last week’s devastating floods in eastern and central regions has reached at least 72.
Authorities also state that 48 people remain missing. Veracruz, located on Mexico’s east coast, continues to suffer the highest casualties and damage, reporting 32 deaths so far. Hidalgo state, which borders Veracruz, follows with 21 fatalities.
Veracruz,situated along the Gulf of Mexico,faces a high risk of natural disasters. Rocío Nahle, governor of Veracruz, said that access to three cities and 37 districts remains unachievable.Mexican President Claudio Sheinbaum is expected to visit the flood-affected areas within the next two days.
