The Guardian: Al-Fashir City in Sudan Is Uninhabitable
The English-language section of webangah News Agency cited Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera reporting that The Guardian described the humanitarian crisis in El fasher as dire. The city has faced a siege lasting over 500 days, resulting in severe food and water shortages.
Mark Townsend, the report’s author, highlighted that Rapid Support Forces have maintained a strict blockade around El fasher for 549 days. They are preventing any humanitarian aid from entering while attempting to capture the last Sudanese army stronghold in western Sudan. This has forced 250,000 people into a cramped area lacking basic living conditions.
According to U.S.-based medical humanitarian organization MedGlobal, El Fasher has become isolated due to severed communications. Eighty-six percent of residents reported either no access or severely limited access to phone or internet services.
Medical examinations conducted by MedGlobal on more than 900 refugees who trekked for several days from El Fasher to Al Dabbah city in North Darfur revealed widespread and severe levels of malnutrition.
