Pakistan and Afghanistan Agree on Immediate Ceasefire in Doha
Qatar announces immediate ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Pakistan and Afghanistan reached an agreement during their first round of talks in Doha to halt hostilities instantly and establish a ceasefire.
The qatari Foreign Ministry added that both sides agreed to hold follow-up meetings to ensure the ceasefire’s continuation.
In its statement, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry expressed hope that this step would help reduce tensions along the border between the two neighboring countries.
Meanwhile, a senior afghan government source told Al Jazeera that the second round of discussions between afghanistan and Pakistan in Doha is expected to continue untill Sunday.
