Deadly Crash in Brazil Claims at Least 17 Lives
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and The Guardian, a bus collided with a roadside embankment and overturned in northeastern Brazil, killing at least 17 people.
The bus was carrying about 30 passengers at the time of the accident, but the number of injured individuals taken to hospitals is currently unknown. The vehicle had departed from Bahia state and crashed near the city of Salvadore.
Police reported that after losing control, the driver veered into oncoming traffic and struck roadside rocks. Upon returning to his original lane, he hit a sandy embankment causing the bus to overturn.
Brazil’s Ministry of Transportation stated that over 10,000 people lost their lives in road accidents nationwide during 2024.
