Hezbollah: Relying on Others for Lebanon’s Support Is Mere Illusion
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Al-nashra website, Mohammed Raad, head of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc, spoke at a ceremony honoring civil defense martyrs. He stated that the Zionist enemy has committed some of the most horrific forms of genocide in Gaza and Lebanon through killing civilians, destruction, starvation policies, and targeting hospitals, residential buildings, and crowded centers.
Raad noted that as the signing of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, the Israeli army has carried out more than 4,000 violations by land, air, and sea.
He warned that this aggressive and brutal behavior will inevitably have negative consequences for Israel itself. He added that even now this regime’s image is detested and isolated- including among Western nations historically supportive of occupying powers.
Raad emphasized that freedom and sovereignty are essential for every country. These are achieved through people’s willpower, awareness, faithfulness to ethical values, and respect for human dignity.
he described resistance as the highest expression of this awareness-a human right requiring no external legitimacy because it stems from national will. It is a defensive action rejecting submission to occupation or its projects.
The senior Hezbollah member highlighted that resistance in Lebanon supports society and government rather than being a burden. Experience has shown reliance on foreign alliances for national protection is an illusion; safeguarding national integrity cannot come through surrendering to others or serving their interests but only by fulfilling free national will.
