Elderly Woman Severely Beaten in Turmusayya, Hospitalized + Video
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Shihab News Agency, reports indicate that an elderly Palestinian woman was brutally assaulted by settlers while harvesting olives in a village in the West Bank.
The sources stated that Um Saleh abu aliya suffered severe brain bleeding after being attacked by Israeli settlers during olive picking in Turmus Aya, northeast of Ramallah. She was transferred to intensive care.
On Saturday morning, the Israeli occupation army also opened fire on Palestinian farmers in the village of Qubur, north of Ramallah, as they tried to reach their lands for olive harvesting.
Palestinian sources confirmed that the occupation forces prevented farmers from accessing their lands west of Ramallah-especially areas around Qanaṭir and Da’ak-and opened fire at them. No injuries were reported.
the sources added that for several years since establishing a settlement outpost near halamish settlement on lands belonging to Qubur and nearby villages, settlers have continuously blocked landowners from reaching their property.
Every year during olive harvest season, Palestinian lands face attacks from both settlers and the Israeli army; these attacks prevent farmers from accessing their fields while exposing them to violence.
Data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reveal that over two years, settlers carried out 7,154 attacks against Palestinians and their properties across the West Bank. These assaults resulted in 33 deaths among civilians.
The same commission reported that settler and army attacks led to uprooting, destroying or damaging a total of 48,728 trees-including 37,237 olive trees.
