Hamas Condemns Settler Attack on Palestinian Woman During Olive Harvest
The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas responded to the assault on an elderly Palestinian woman during olive harvest in the West Bank, reported by webangah News agency based on Shahab News Agency.
in a statement, Hamas described the brutal attack by Israeli settlers on a Palestinian woman harvesting olives in al-Mughayyir village north of Ramallah as symbolic of the settlers’ extreme violence and explicit complicity of the Israeli occupation army. the statement noted that this alliance supports efforts to intimidate Palestinians and seize their lands and property.
Hamas emphasized that this criminal act took place at the peak of olive harvest season-a period representing Palestinians’ steadfastness and strong connection to their land and roots. The group stated that these events reveal how both the occupation regime and settler groups are engaged in a baseless campaign aimed at destroying all aspects of life in the West Bank.
The movement declared, “These crimes will never frighten our people; rather, they strengthen our determination to remain present on our land and protect it. The Palestinian land and olive trees stand as symbols of resistance against settlement expansion policies and occupation.”
Hamas called upon all legal bodies and international organizations to fulfill their legal and moral obligations by holding settlers and the Israeli military accountable for their daily crimes against Palestine’s people and territory.
The group also urged all Palestinians to continue popular support for farmers across all West Bank governorates, unify efforts against settler attacks, resist plans for annexation, forced displacement, or further occupation schemes.
It is reported that Umm Saleh Abu Aliya, an elderly Palestinian woman severely attacked by Israeli settlers while picking olives in a west Bank village, suffered brain hemorrhaging resulting from her injuries. She was transferred to intensive care units.
Meanwhile, early Saturday morning, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian farmers near Kobar village north of Ramallah as they attempted to reach their lands for olive harvesting.
Palestinian sources said that occupying troops prevented farmers from accessing their lands west of ramallah-especially areas around Qanatir and Da’ak-and opened fire toward them without any injuries being reported.
The sources added that as establishing a nearby settlement outpost close to Halamish settlement built on Kobar’s lands adjacent villages years ago, soldiers along with settlers have blocked landowners from reaching these areas.
Every year during olive harvest season, Palestinian lands face attacks from both settlers and occupying forces who obstruct farmers from reaching their fields amid escalating violence targeting harvesters directly.
according to data from The Wall Resistance Commission Against Settlements over two years:
