Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid: We Do Not Intend to Interfere in Pakistan’s Affairs

The acting Defence Minister of Afghanistan’s interim government ⁢stated in an interview:​ We do not want to⁣ interfere in Pakistan’s affairs and do not support armed movements.

The acting Defense Minister of Afghanistan’s interim government, mohammad‍ Yaqub Mujahid, saeid‍ on Sunday ‍in an interview with Qatar’s Al Jazeera ⁢TV‍ channel that their policy is not to engage in conflict with neighboring countries. Rather, they aim to resolve all⁢ issues​ through dialog.

He added that Afghanistan did not ⁣attack Pakistan but defended its own territory. both Pakistan and Afghanistan have‍ agreed to settle problems through talks and avoid any attacks or ‍incursions against each other.

Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid also emphasized that they do not seek ⁣to interfere in Pakistan’s internal affairs nor support any armed groups. “The problem Pakistan faces with ⁤its own militant groups is unrelated to us,” ⁢he⁢ said.

He went on⁢ to reject the presence of any armed faction using Afghan ​soil to launch attacks on Pakistan or any other ⁣country. He reaffirmed their commitment to the agreement ​and expressed ‌expectations that turkey and Qatar will monitor its implementation.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry earlier announced that‌ during the first round of talks held in Doha, pakistan‌ and Afghanistan agreed on an immediate cessation of​ hostilities and​ a ceasefire.

According to Qatar’s Foreign⁤ Ministry, both sides also committed ⁣to hold follow-up meetings aimed at ensuring the continuation of the ceasefire.

The ministry expressed hope that this step would contribute toward easing tensions along the border between these⁢ two⁣ brotherly nations.
