Da Silva: We Defend the Venezuelan People’s Right to Self-Determination
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Anadolu Agency, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva criticized U.S. military actions in the caribbean region and called for respect for Venezuela’s sovereignty.
The Brazilian president stated that Donald Trump authorized the CIA to conduct operations on Venezuelan soil under the pretext of combating narcotics. Such actions insult South American countries’ sovereignty and violate international law.the ongoing military blockade against Venezuelans and extrajudicial killings carried out by U.S. armed forces are unacceptable. these measures lack any legal basis and completely disregard judicial processes.
Lula da Silva demanded respect for Venezuela’s sovereignty, adding that the CIA has a long history of funding and organizing illegal destabilizing activities. He addressed concerns about Brazil becoming like Venezuela, saying, “Brazil will never become Venezuela, nor will Venezuela ever become brazil; each country remains as it is.”
He emphasized: “We support the right of the Venezuelan people to determine their own destiny. The president of another country should not dictate how Venezuela or Cuba must be.”
