Kushner and Whitaker Deny Genocide: “It’s as if a Nuclear Bomb Exploded in Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and CBS, Jared Kushner, senior advisor and son-in-law of former U.S. President Donald Trump-often called the architect of White House Middle East policy-acknowledged the extensive destruction in the Gaza Strip but declined to recognize a genocide committed by Israel there.
Kushner and Steve Witkoff,Trump’s special envoy to West Asia, discussed issues including the fragile ceasefire between Hamas and Tel Aviv during an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes.” Both denied that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza throughout their conversation.
Responding to a question about the situation in Gaza after the ceasefire, Kushner described visiting an area “almost like a place where an atomic bomb has exploded.”
He added that when he asked an Israeli military officer where Palestinians were moving to, he was told: “Look around; everything is rubble.” The officer said Palestinians were returning only to areas where their homes had been destroyed and setting up tents on what remains of their land.
Kushner continued: “It’s very sad because you think they really have nowhere else to go.”
Despite these tangible observations, both Kushner and Witkoff firmly rejected labeling these events as genocide. Witkoff claimed: “Definitely not. There has just been a war going on there.”
