Moscow: Europe Aims to Undermine Peace Efforts Ahead of Putin-Trump Meeting
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, emphasized that ahead of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, the European Union is actively trying to disrupt any initiatives aimed at establishing peace in Ukraine.
Zakharova stated: “The EU and the unfriendly Western European community have resorted to what they call ‘active destructive measures.’ Naturally, we are aware of what is happening; we see it and hear it all. Once again, statements and threats have been issued.”
She added: “We know what they intend to do. I mean Western Europe under the influence of extremist liberal policies from the previous U.S. governance. They aim to sabotage every peaceful aspiration-from discussions related to peace talks to actual actions.”
The Russian diplomat recalled: “They are clearly trying to escalate the conflict as they did in 2022 by disrupting peace negotiations initiated by Kyiv’s regime; negotiations our country made possible. They have been doing this for years while occasionally masking their actions with declarations claiming support for peace initiatives-but in truth, they do everything possible to intensify hostilities.”
Zakharova further noted: “Given how many amateurs lead these Western European countries today, it’s challenging to assess their level of awareness about their own actions. These individuals lack proper training, experience, or professionalism-they merely serve as spokespeople delivering pre-packaged ideas handed down from others.”
