Russia Welcomes Ceasefire Agreement Between Afghanistan and Pakistan

Maria Zakharova,⁤ spokesperson for ‍the Russian Foreign Ministry, expressed support for the recently reached ceasefire agreement between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Russian Foreign Ministry⁣ stated that moscow welcomes the ‍ceasefire accord. The willingness of Afghanistan​ and Pakistan ‌to engage in dialog⁤ and‌ resolve disputes through political⁣ and diplomatic means forms the foundation for maintaining peace between these pleasant nations. ⁤It also plays a ⁣crucial role‌ in ensuring regional security.

Zakharova⁢ further urged Kabul and Islamabad to expand their cooperation, notably in combating terrorism.

Earlier,Qatar’s Foreign Ministry announced that during⁤ the first round of talks⁣ held in Doha,Pakistan and⁣ Afghanistan agreed on an immediate halt to hostilities⁤ and establishing a ceasefire.

The two sides also agreed to hold follow-up meetings to ensure the continued enforcement of the ceasefire,⁣ according to⁢ Qatar’s ministry.

The Qatari statement expressed hope ⁣that ⁤this step would help reduce tensions along the​ shared border between these two brotherly countries.
