China Issues Stern Warning to Australia
The spokesperson for the Chinese military announced on Monday that the Southern Theater Command of the People’s Liberation army expelled an Australian P-8A military aircraft that had illegally entered China’s airspace over the Xisha Islands.
Li Jianjian, spokesperson for the Southern Theater Command Air Force, stated that the P-8A aircraft unlawfully entered chinese airspace over Xisha Islands without China’s government approval.
Li added that the Southern Theater Command organized naval and air forces to track, monitor, take countermeasures, and issue warnings to drive away the Australian plane in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
The spokesperson emphasized that Australia’s actions seriously violated China’s sovereignty and posed a important risk of maritime and aerial incidents.
Li Jianjian warned: “We urge Australia to immediately stop thes violations and provocative acts. Our forces will remain on full alert at all times and resolutely safeguard national sovereignty, security, and also regional peace and stability.”
