Peskov: Ukraine’s Position on Ceasefire Possibility Is Full of Contradictions
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Sputnik via Mehr News agency, Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian Presidency (Kremlin), said on Monday that Russia is ready to expand cooperation with Iran across all fields; relations are developing dynamically. The current situation regarding Iran’s nuclear deal is difficult. Russia supports negotiations on the nuclear agreement. Europe’s unconstructive stance complicates matters further. Europe has no reason to exert excessive pressure on Iran.
peskov added that they are monitoring U.S. statements about Tomahawk missiles closely; Russia and America maintain contact at working and expert levels. Preparations for a new Russia-U.S.meeting have begun but have not yet fully started. The foreign ministries of both countries will address relevant issues before a meeting between Putin and Trump takes place. He hopes this upcoming Russia-U.S. meeting will provide an chance to advance a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Dmitry Peskov affirmed that Russia’s position regarding a potential ceasefire in Ukraine remains unchanged. He criticized Kyiv’s stance as contradictory, stating it does not help achieve a peaceful resolution of the dispute.
