Takayichi Becomes Japan’s First Female Prime Minister

Japan’s ⁢Liberal Democratic Party ‌leader has‌ been elected as the country’s first female prime minister.

According ⁤to‍ the⁢ English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency adn The Washington Post,Japan’s parliament officially elected Sanae ⁣Takaichi as the nation’s first female ‌prime minister following a formal vote.

The 64-year-old Takaichi,previously considered‌ the leading candidate for the position,has now formally become the first woman in Japanese history to​ hold this office.

Former Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba resigned along with his cabinet ahead of today’s election.
